News
The EU is introducing the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM): Imported products will in future bear the same CO₂ costs as European goods.

What is CBAM?
CBAM stands for ‘Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism’ – a CO₂ border adjustment mechanism of the European Union. It was introduced by EU Regulation (EU) 2023/956 of 10 May 2023 as part of the European Green Deal. The aim is to establish equal environmental standards for imported and European products and to prevent so-called ‘carbon leakage’ effects.
Why was CBAM introduced?
The EU is pursuing ambitious climate targets: By 2030, net greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by at least 55% (‘Fit for 55 package’) compared to 1990. To achieve these goals, imported products must also bear CO₂ costs – just as EU manufacturers already do through the Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). CBAM ensures that imports from third countries do not gain competitive advantages through lower environmental standards.
What does that mean for you?
High Supply Security
We ensure that we can continue to deliver reliably under the new CBAM conditions – even in times of shortages or price fluctuations in the market.
Your advantage: You can rely on stable supply chains and predictable availability.
Consistent Quality Despite Market Changes
Through targeted purchasing strategies and flexible market monitoring, we make sure to continue sourcing high-quality materials in the future.
Your advantage: You will keep receiving products of the usual quality – without compromise.
Fair and Transparent Pricing
We carefully analyse the impact of CBAM and pass on only the actual additional costs incurred. At the same time, we continuously work internally on efficiency improvements to keep price increases as low as possible.
Your advantage: You benefit from an honest, transparent pricing structure and a responsible approach to costs.
Sustainability as Part of Our Responsibility
By optimising our processes – from production to logistics – we actively reduce CO₂ emissions and contribute to climate protection.
Your advantage: You work with a partner who takes sustainability seriously and acts with a future-oriented mindset.
